Carversteak is located on the northwest corner of W 48th St and 8th Avenue. Our location is surrounded by some of the city’s most iconic streets. Located nearby is the famous Birdland Jazz Club and down the street is Carnegie Hall. You’re also within walking distance to Rockefeller Center and The Museum of Modern Art.
Right across the street from Carversteak is the city’s Theater District and Broadway. You can walk from the restaurant to your show after a refined dinner with hand-crafted cocktails.
We’re also the perfect place to grab an excellent meal and drink before or after your show. Our staff serves many guests who have scheduled shows so they know how to let dinner flow naturally, while keeping you on time.
Only four blocks from Times Square, Carversteak is in the heart of the city. You can move seamlessly from the comfort of the restaurant into the excitement of the nation’s most popular tourist attraction.
We’re also a great in-between spot for filling up time before or after planned events. Tourists come here to grab a quick drink or bite to eat, while checking out nearby sites.
The steak program at Carversteak focuses on quality and craftsmanship. It’s one of the main attractions for tourists and locals. Our menu features prime and dry aged cuts, along with curated selections of Wagyu, sourced from around the world.
Large cuts, like the Tomahawk, are designed for sharing, but you’ll find individually prepared steaks that highlight the rich flavor and texture of high-quality cuts.
We ask all guests to follow a business casual dress code. You can feel comfortable, while still experiencing the refined and elevated atmosphere at Carversteak.
A nice dress shirt or blouse with dress pants will fit it beautifully with our overall aesthetic.
Our pre-theater menu and close proximity to Broadway makes us an ideal venue for dining before a show. You can sit down while enjoying a high-quality meal and feel confident you’ll never miss your show.
Our staff understands many guests are heading to a show and helps keep the service smooth and efficient. Our staff may even ask if you have a show to attend to tailor the experience to your needs.

The transition from Times Square to Carversteak to the Theater District is nominal.
Carversteak is a strong choice before a Broadway show because we offer convenience combined with an elevated atmosphere. The feeling of a special night out is embedded in our restaurant's interior design. You’ll get the drama of the Theater District without any stress. We also pair naturally with an evening of live performance.
Reservations are recommended when dining at Carversteak. This is especially important if you are attending a show or have a scheduled event to attend after your dinner.
A reservation helps you secure your preferred time and removes any stress from the experience. Making a reservation ahead of time also gives you peace of mind that you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy a nice dinner before your event.
A few days in advance is usually enough for standard evenings but one week is recommended if you plan on attending Carversteak during a weekend or special occasion.
Larger parties should book ahead at least two weeks in advance and call our restaurant ahead of time to discuss all details and needs.
Walk-ins are always welcome at Carversteak and many of our guests show up without a reservation. However, there may be a short wait on weekends or special holidays but if your schedule is flexible, there will always be a spot for you at Carversteak.
Carversteak is age inclusive, and all guests 18 and under will be seated in the front dinning room.
