After talking about food, writing about food, and editing stories about food all day long, Food & Wine editors are absolutely eating well outside of the office. This June, we dined at restaurants around the world, testing out hot culinary destinations and returning to our reliable standbys.

We ate hundreds of dishes, but there were only a handful that our editors couldn’t forget. Here are the ten best dishes we ate in June.

Wagyu cheesesteak bites at Carversteak (New York City)

Toasted milk bread topped with wagyu beef, melted cheese sauce, and chives on a decorative plate.

Before I visited Carversteak, the newly opened luxury steakhouse in Midtown Manhattan, everyone told me there was one thing I absolutely had to order: the Wagyu cheesesteak bites. After trying them, I can confirm the hype is justified. I haven’t stopped thinking about them. They’re made with shaved Australian Wagyu, caramelized onions, aged provolone, and truffle mornay, all tucked into a buttered roll. Each order comes with two, so if you’re dining with more than two people, do yourself a favor and order multiple. Trust me, they’re worth it. — Alexa Rockwell, senior social media editor
